Storm & Cathrine’s Classic Wedding

How They Met & The Proposal

Storm and Cathrine met at the Memorial Ice House in Houston, on February 13, 2021. It was actually right around the time of the crazy ice storm that Texas had. They can thank some mutual friends for inviting them out for drinks because that was where they really hit it off.

Storm proposed on August 29, 2022, in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Storm and Cathrine decided to take a trip for Storm’s 31st birthday. They were getting ready to go to brunch and Cathrine asked Storm to take a picture of her on the pool deck because she needed an insta worthy photo to post since she had already used up all the good ones they had taken on the trip. Little did Cathrine know that a professional photographer was casually sitting on a beach chair on his laptop, pretending to work. So the couple proceeded to take photos and pose together overlooking the ocean. Storm kept looking at Cathrine and saying “You know how much I love you, right?” Cathrine put her hand on his back and realized he was shaking. This was the moment she realized and went into complete shock. Storm proceeded to get down on one knee and asked Cathrine to marry him.

The Ceremony & Reception

The couple decided to get married off-site at a local Catholic Church. The church took a while processing their paperwork so they didn’t know until the day before their wedding that they could hold the ceremony there. The Inn had a plan B prepared in the case that Storm and Cathrine needed to get married at the venue and Emily with Uniquely Set created two different timelines for either plan to happen. Cathrine said “Having a solid backup plan was amazing!” The couple loved having the reception at the Inn. They went for a classic look with lots of greenery. They added their own personal touches of pheasant feathers from Storm’s bachelor trip hunt and some antlers they found from shed hunting over the years. They loved having the band there (Little Wedding Band); they kept everyone dancing the entire night!

Why The Inn

“Storm's one condition was he wanted to be able to walk to his bed after the wedding! I loved the fact that we had so much time to set things up and also take everything down the day after. It was really such a stress free experience the entire time!”

Advice From the Bride

“Do not stress about the little things because at the end of the day, you only remember the big things and if you had fun! Delegate some of those more demanding tasks, trust me, people want to help they just sometimes don't know how!”

Favorite Moment

“Our favorite part of our wedding was the fact that we ate breakfast alone at 8 am before we started getting ready for the day. We weren't doing a first look before the church and we knew that after we were ready and headed to the church, we really wouldn't have a lot of alone time to soak up the best day. We also didn't say personal vows at the church so we utilized this time to share our love and excitement for the day. But in reality, every single part of this day was our favorite. Best day ever and we want to do it again!!”
