Tying the Knot, Jake & Tessa Freeman

How did you both meet and when/where did the proposal happen?

We first met in New Braunfels. We just so happen to both be attending the Texas River Festival, a combination of music and floating the river. Jake later proposed in Houston Texas on December 10th.

Why did you choose the Inn at Quarry Ridge?

It was absolutely beautiful so we had to go with it. Plus, the location was most ideal for us and our guests.

What was your vision/style for the wedding?

We wanted to go with fall colors, like a nice rustic orange. We drew inspiration from both English and Native American culture.

Tell us about your wedding ceremony!

Well, it was supposed to happen outside at the gazebo. Unfortunately it rained, but the Inn took care of everything and got us set up to do the ceremony inside. It was still beautiful and we didn’t miss a beat! We chose to do a physical knot tying ceremony where we had some people we care about wrap ribbons around our wrists and we got to literally “tie the knot”.

Tell us about your wedding reception!

The venue was just perfect for our reception! We had a DJ and there was lots of dancing and fun. We ate great food and talked around the fire pits. Best of all, we got to do this with great people that we love and cherish.

What advice do you have for brides planning their wedding?

Listen to the planners (they have done this before). Be open to different ideas, it really adds to the whole day. Also…it’s not the end of the world if it rains!

What was your favorite moment of the wedding day?

Our vows to each other and saying yes, obviously!
