Michael & Kathryn Tie the Knot

How They Met & The Proposal

Michael and Kathryn met at a Halloween party that Michael threw in 2018. A mutual friend invited Kathryn and she wasn’t sure if she would go. It just so happen that she got off work early that evening, so on a whim, she decided to go to the party. Good thing she did because that is where it all began. Fast forward into their relationship, Michael planned a picnic date at John Crompton Park in College Station. Michael had everything prepped and planned perfectly and Kathryn had absolutely no clue. Her best friend was in town so they went and got their nails done the day before. To Kathryn, that was a normal thing to do with her best friend and she didn’t suspect a thing. As soon as the couple was at the park and the picnic was set up, Michael wasted no time in getting down on one knee. Kathryn said the easiest yes she’s ever said and only then did she notice the photographer Michael hired to capture the proposal. They had their pup Kalli with them and Kathryn thought the proposal could not have been more perfect.

The Ceremony & Reception

The couple chose to have their ceremony outside and were so glad they did. A family friend of theirs officiated and Michael and Kathryn wrote the wedding script together. Kathryn said “the ceremony was absolutely magical. We each wrote our own vows and I wish I could relive those moments over and over again.” They especially loved the lakeside gazebo as it made a beautiful background for all of the pictures during and after the ceremony. After the photos, the couple moved inside for the reception. There was something for every kind of guest in Stonehem Hall. From a huge dance floor for those who love to dance all night to a fire pit for the guests that like to relax, socialize and eat some s’mores! It had gotten cold overnight the night before the wedding. The Inn had heaters available and ready to use for the evening of the wedding. Heating lamps were placed on the patio for anyone who wanted to get a break from the music, play some corn hole, or just take a breath of fresh air. Overall the couple described their wedding ceremony and reception as “absolutely perfect”.

Why The Inn

“Oh man, where do I begin? I contacted 17 venues around the area to get the packages so I could compare them. The Inn’s Marble Package was the best package by a landslide. The overnight accommodations for the entire wedding party, access to the venue from 2 pm Friday to 5 pm Sunday, and premium day of wedding coordination were just a few of the perks within the Marble Package. I immediately scheduled a tour for Michael and I to see the venue. When the tour came, we quickly fell in love with the beautiful outdoor ceremony space and knew that this was the place we wanted to get married. We booked the following week! After having our wedding 11/5/22, we could not be happier with our venue choice. We can confidently say that our wedding day was perfect and everyone at the Inn at Quarry Ridge played a huge part in it all coming together.”

Advice From the Bride

“A wedding day coordinator is a necessity. The amount of effort that goes into making the day go smoothly needs to be coordinated to one or two people as their SOLE duty. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to make things perfect. Focus on the most important moments. Stay hip to hip with your partner during the reception so you can spend the entire night together.”

Favorite Moment

“Our favorite moment was our first look. It was just the two of us and we did our first look before the ceremony. It was amazing to get to see each other before the ceremony and get to talk just the two of us.”
