Herman & Chelsea’s Lovely Summer Wedding at the Inn at Quarry Ridge in Bryan, TX

Chelsea & Herman’s Wedding was on a lovely summer day in Texas at The Inn At Quarry Ridge

HOW THEY MET

Herman & Chelsea met at the very end of their freshman year at Texas A&M.  Chelsea was invited by a friend to attend the very home group that Herman already was attending and the rest is history!

THE PROPOSAL

Chelsea & Herman had been dating a little over a year when they decided they would go hiking.  They drove to Inks Lake State Park, which is about three hours away from College Station where they lived.  They hiked for a couple of hours on that incredibly windy and cold day.

Herman had requested that Chelsea pack “nicer clothes” for the dinner they would be having after their hike.  Once they finished their hike, Chelsea changed in the only available place…a porta potty!
Herman led her to the dock at the park, where she was surprised to see roses on each side of the dock.  Herman walked Chelsea down to the end of the dock and asked her “are you ready?”
He got down on one knee, pulled the ring out and popped the question!

Chelsea was completely surprised and had no idea what he had been planning!

THE VISION/STYLE

Chelsea knew she wanted a more rustic yet simple Wedding.
The Bridesmaids wore Maroon dresses from Azazie, while Herman and the Groomsmen wore Navy Blue suits from Express.

Mauve, Taupe, and some Green were sprinkled in the Reception Hall.

THE CEREMONY

“We had our Wedding Ceremony at the Waterside Gazebo.  The Lord blessed us with the perfect weather that evening.  Our Ceremony was where Herman and I got to experience some of the most beautiful and powerful promises of God fulfilled.  We had two very amazing and Godly men orchestrate our Ceremony.  They spoke of our journey through dating, engagement and shared what God’s design for marriage is.  Herman and I washed each other’s feet and exchanged private vows, expressing our devotion and servant-hood to one another.  And moments later, we were married!” – Chelsea

THE RECEPTION

Their Reception seemed like a whirlwind!  Started with the Grand Entrance and into the First Dances.  They had Mad Taco for their Wedding Dinner and were served by Peter Madden himself!  They had a beautiful dessert table filled with all kinds of goodies they and their guests enjoyed once their Cake was cut.
They then pulled out all kinds of props and had a big dance party!
Then it was Bouquet & Garter Toss a little more dancing and all of the sudden it was time for the Grand Exit.

Chelsea and Herman enjoyed a private last dance as their guests lined up and got ready for their Sparkler Exit.  Their Reception was one for the books!

THE ADVICE/FAVORITE MOMENT

“Planning your Wedding is such a unique, fun and sometimes stressful time in your life.  For me it felt like this huge project that I got to see come to fruition on the Wedding Day.
I would definitely say never lose focus on what is most important and that is your Marriage to be and your relationship with your fiancé.

Invite people you trust and love into your planning, especially your fiancé.  Delegrate well with them.  Don’t be afraid to voice your opinion as to what you do and don’t want, but always be sure to do this with grace and thankfulness.

Lastly, I heard this all the time and it is so true.  At the end of the day, all that matters is your marriage to this beautiful human being that God has given you.  So, if you find that when you’re walking down the aisle and notice some of the linens aren’t the color you chose at the store… who cares! :)”

My favorite moment of the Weddign Day was probably walking down the aisle, eyes searching for and focused on Herman.  Just moments leading up to entering into this marriage covenant with Herman and the Lord.  There is something very very powerful and so beautiful in Marriage and it has everything to do with Jesus.”- Chelsea

WHY THE INN

“The Inn at Quarry Ridge was literally the most breathtaking venue I had ever seen.  Stonehem Hall is absolutely gorgeous.  I loved all of the windows in the hall and the decks on each side of the hall are amazing.  The gazebo (where we had our ceremony) was near a lake and surrounded by beautiful trees and greenery.  The moment we stepped into the Hall on our tour.  I knew this was the place we would have our Wedding.” – Chelsea
