Jimmy & Melissa’s Beautiful Spring Wedding at the Inn at Quarry Ridge in Bryan, TX

Melissa & Jimmy’s Wedding was on a gorgeous spring day in Texas.  Their story is one for the books, but don’t take our word for it…

HOW THEY MET

Jimmy and Melissa’s story all started with a turkey hunt…

Jimmy lived in Canada and worked in the oilfield but would take off during waterfowl season to be a full-time guide.  For the first time he was headed to a turkey hunt which was a bit different than his normal Waterfowl Guiding tours.  In March of 2014 Jimmy was headed down south to go on the turkey hunt in Mexico, when the co-owner of the guide business he normally worked for asked if he would like to come to Bryan/College Station to visit Texas and hangout.

The co-owner, Mike, happened to be good friends with Melissa’s brother Patrick!

So when Jimmy flew down to meet up with Mike, they ended up hanging out with Patrick, Melissa and her friend Morgan.

Melissa and Morgan had originally had different plans, but had rearranged them and met the boys at The Backyard to hang out and meet this Canadian friend that Mike had.

As soon as Mike introduced Melissa to Jimmy there was an immediate spark between them that neither could deny!

The night was a blast, but it did end and Jimmy had to return to Canada.

Neither of them could quit thinking about the other, and both asked Mike and Patrick about each other.  This got Mike and Patrick to decide to play matchmaker.

Patrick convinced Melissa to add Jimmy on Facebook, and soon after he sent her a message…they have been talking every day since!

Melissa didn’t know that she could ever have been so thankful for a turkey!

THE PROPOSAL

Three short years later Jimmy and Melissa were in love and involved in a beautiful relationship when Melissa decided it was time for them to finally take some professional portraits together.

Melissa scheduled a couple’s shoot for December of 2017 with her cousin, Katie Clement Photography (Spoiler!  Katie was Melissa’s Maid of Honor!).

Before the session happened, Jimmy asked Katie if not only could they do the couple’s session, but would it be ok if they turned it into a proposal…and of course Katie was in!

The day of their session arrived and Melissa had a few suspicions, but thankfully her sister, Jaime diverted her attention and she was none the wiser.

The couple finished getting ready and headed to Melissa’s grandparents home where they planned to do the session.

When they arrived, Melissa’s grandpa stepped out onto the porch and hollered, “are y’all married yet?!” and Katie quickly hurried him back inside and they started the session.

At one point during the session, Melissa asked Jimmy what he had in his pockets…thankfully she was just referring to his phone and wallet!

While Jimmy went out to the car to empty his pockets, Katie pretended to need something from her car.  Jimmy and Katie quickly devised a plan of action and once they were back it wasn’t very long before Jimmy got down on one knee, pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked, “Melissa Jane Montoya, will you Marry me?”  Melissa cried tears of joy and said, “YES!”

Having the proposal happen at Melissa’s grandparents’ home was so special to her.  She has so many precious memories from her childhood linked to this home.

After a few moments of taking it all in, Melissa and Jimmy went to share the news with Melissa’s Grandpa and then they all headed to Shipwreck where family and friends were waiting to celebrate…including Jimmy’s mother, Sherry, who flew in from Canada!

They spent the rest of the night celebrating the couple and looking over the photos Katie had captured of that sweet and perfect moment.  Definitely a day they will never forget.

THE WEDDING

The first Wedding Jimmy and Melissa ever attended as a couple was at The Inn At Quarry Ridge.  They fell in love with the grounds and the overall feel of the venue that day.

After they got engaged, Melissa happened upon a Facebook Ad for the new Stonehem hall at The Inn At Quarry Ridge and immediately wanted to tour it.

Jimmy happened to be in town for a tour they had booked with another venue, but that venue ended up rescheduling.  On a whim, Melissa called The Inn At Quarry Ridge and spoke to Larry, the owner.  She wanted to see if they could come by and tour the venue that day, knowing it was a long shot at such short notice.  Surprisingly, Larry had an opening at the exact time they had been scheduled to tour the other venue that canceled.

With all the pieces fitting together, they headed out to see the venue.  After touring The Inn At Quarry Ridge and their new Stonehem Hall, they were more than head over heels…it was perfect for them!  It had the perfect balance of nature and elegance they were looking for and were so excited to have found the place to celebrate with their family and friends!

THE PACKAGE

Melissa & Jimmy chose the Marble Package because it offered them more than they could have ever hoped for.

Using the space for their Rehearsal Dinner was included in the package instead of having to resort to a noisy restaurant.  Their Wedding Party was able to stay with them after the rehearsal dinner and be there as soon as they woke up on their Wedding Day, allowing a fun filled weekend with some of their closest friends.
The Marble Package includes a day of coordinator, making your Wedding Day a breeze.  The coordinator creates a timeline and makes sure the day goes how the couple wants it to, eliminating stress for the Bride & Groom.  They were even allowed to use decorations and service pieces from the in house collection that they would have otherwise had to rent or purchase.  They provided help with unloading decorations, setting them all up and tearing them down at the end of the night.

“We could not imagine having our Wedding anywhere other than at The Inn At Quarry Ridge.  We could not have been more excited to have a full Dream Wedding Weekend with their closest family and friends.”
