How They Met

It was another Friday evening on Northgate in College Station, little did Shelbie know that her life would be changed that night for the better. Having just moved there a month prior, she was just excited about what life had to offer. Shelbie didn’t really want to go out that night, but was very glad that her friends convinced her when a man with a contagious smile named Chance came over to her and asked to buy her a drink. The rest is history.

The Proposal

The day was April 13th 2019. Because College Station is such a special place for Chance and Shelbie, he planned the perfect proposal. He got her sister to ask if she wanted to go to the Aggie Baseball game that day, not knowing that Chance had already bought tickets for her entire family to go. Afterwards Shelbie’s mom asked if she could take her to go see the George Bush Library because “she had never seen it”. Walking around the pond carelessly looking around, Shelbie didn’t see Chance on one knee until she came right up on him. It was a very special moment because Chance’s family was also there across the pond watching the whole thing.

The Ceremony

It was a November day, so the vision for the wedding was a beautiful rustic fall wedding. Maroon, dusty rose, navy and gold created a stunning color scheme. Their wedding ceremony was short and sweet. The entire ceremony was centered around God and everything he has done and continues to do for Chance and Shelbie. Shelbie said it was completely magical standing at the altar knowing Chance and herself were going to become one with their family and friends watching. The ceremony had a “Rustic Greenery” feel to it, using a lot of wooden accents, greenery, and neutral colors. It took place at the outdoor gazebo on a warm evening in October. They each wrote their own vows, and honored their parents having a “Tree of Love”. Combining soil from each of their parents homes to a potted tree, symbolizing the critical roles that their parents played in helping get them to where they are now!

The Reception

The wedding reception was an absolute party with friends and family, the happy couple did not expect anything less. There were around 300 guests who completely took over the dance floor. They also incorporated a Grand March which was a hit, along with glow stick necklaces to add a little fun! The entire day was absolutely magical.

Why The Inn

  • “Chance and I will always hold a special place in our hearts for the Bryan College Station area. Because of that, we decided to look at the Inn At Quarry Ridge and as soon as we saw it, there was no question.”

Advice From The Bride

  • “I would say take it all in and don’t stress over the small things. You need to take a step back and remember why you are planning this wedding. The day is about you and your husband and no one else.”

Favorite Moment

  • “Chance and I wrote letters to each other and read them back to back before any guests arrived. During this time, we also prayed over our future marriage. Chance never saw me but the second I saw him, a calmness came over my body and I was no longer nervous. It is my favorite memory from the entire day.”
