Simple But Classy to Say I DO

How They Met & The Proposal

Matthew and Katie first met in high school, in College Station. Though they knew each other then, they were not high school sweethearts. Instead, they knew each other for a while and were just good friends. They didn’t start dating until the end of January, 2018. Just 2 years later, they were engaged! Matthew proposed on December 20, 2021, in Fredericksburg Texas. All of Matthew and Katie’s friends had been invited out to Signor Winery, a beautiful winery full of flowers and greenery. Katie assumed they were all taking a big friends’ trip so she was completely surprised when Matthew popped the question!

The Ceremony

Matthew and Katie decided on a very classic and natural theme for the wedding day. They chose lots of greenery with simple white flowers to match and some classic floating candles to round out the look. They wanted simple yet classy. Their real focus was on their guests. Getting to share their vows in front of those who matter most, with the most beautiful scenery was everything the couple had dreamed of. Katie said, “It went by so fast but everything was perfect. Walking down the aisle and seeing all of our loved ones there to celebrate us was truly amazing to see.”

The Reception

“The wedding reception was so much fun! It went by WAY too fast. We could have partied all night with our friends. The coordinator, bartenders, and all the staff that helped were amazing and so attentive. The night went so smoothly and was so fun!”

Why The Inn

“We chose the Inn at Quarry Ridge because of everything it had to offer with the Marble Package. The decor, the overnight stay, the day-of coordination and so much more! We also fell in love with the outdoor ceremony option. It perfectly captured our classic, natural theme.”

Advice From the Bride

“My advice would be to start as early as you can and definitely book a venue first thing. We had a year and half to plan and I feel like we still needed more time! Securing a venue was the first thing we did and it was so relieving to check that box off. I would also say to keep in mind that something will eventually go wrong. I kept that in mind and told myself that nothing would ruin our day.”

Favorite Moment

“Our favorite moment was by far our last dance. After a day of high emotions and stress, getting to be alone with each other and dance to our favorite song was absolutely magical. We both just sobbed happy tears the whole time. We’ll cherish that moment forever.”
