“Tell us about the story of how you two met?”

“Joseph and I met in high school in 2013 at St. Joseph High School in Victoria. I was a freshman, and he was a Sophomore. Honestly we were just friends for a long time, but our friendship drifted off once Joseph went to college. However, over Christmas break in 2016, Joseph called me out of the blue to see if I was in town, and the rest is history. We went on a few dates and made the relationship official a month later on January 11, 2017.”

How about the proposal, how did that happen?

“On December 26, 2019 Joseph and I were on our Christmas Trip in Paris, France. The most romantic place on earth! He got down on one knee, and when he asked the question I responded with ‘Oui!’.”

“What was your inspiration for the theme for the Wedding?”

“With Joseph’s last name being ‘Flowers’, we knew the theme had to be very floral. So we kept it simple with a blush, cream/white, and green color palette. This, with some subtle birch-y accents made for a really natural and beautiful wedding.”

“Why did you choose Inn At Quarry Ridge for your Wedding Celebration?”

“Our favorite aspects were the aesthetics, Stonehem hall is absolutely stunning! The best part was the overnight stay for our wedding party! We got to rest, eat, and get ready all on site which made everything easy and convenient.”

“Tell us about your Wedding Ceremony!”

“We officially tied the knot at a very small Catholic Ceremony before the wedding. This allowed for our ceremony at the Inn to be very short and sweet, which was perfect for the Texas heat.”

“Tell us about your Wedding Reception!”

“Our wedding reception was a blast! Just as we’d hoped. The style was beautiful, but simple. We served wood fired pizza from Wild Garlic that was so tasty. We had heartfelt speeches from our Best Men and Maids of Honor. Our first dance was Everlong by The Foo Fighters, and we played a good mix of country songs, and songs to dance to! Luckily, we did not struggle to get people on the dance floor.”

“What advice do you have for Brides planning their Wedding?”

“First, get the package with the wedding coordinators! That changed the game completely. They have vendor recommendations based on my wants (that all turned out GREAT), gave me a personalized budget guide, and made the day before and the day of a breeze.”

“Also, set dates for yourself using an online planning guide or even a wedding plan journal and follow them. I think the fear of COVID possibility ruining my wedding made me nervous to actually PLAN the wedding, and I felt behind. Stick to the dates you want and start researching vendors before then. You can reach out to a few, take time to read reviews, and figure out if they fit in your budget. Know everything will get done, and reach out the coordinators and family/friends for help.”

“What was your favorite moment of the Wedding Day?”

“I had two favorite moments. My first, and unexpected one, was overlooking the venue from my Suite where I was getting ready, and watching my guests walk in. I did not cry a ton on my big day (because of the adrenaline), but it was so bittersweet watching friends and family from all over (even from out of state), and who all had different things going on in their life walk in to celebrate my husband and I. Every time someone new walked up, tears welled up in my eyes because I felt so much love for my husband and I.”

“The next best part that my husband and I can agree on was our “last dance”. After such a long day, with most of it spent apart, it was so nice to have everyone out while we danced a private dance. We got to “breath”, gush, and be together. It was lovely.”
