Lillian & Joseph’s Romantic Traditional Wedding Day
How/Where/When did you meet?
Met through friends in Midland, TX. First date was at Lori’s Cafe.
How/When/Where did the proposal happen?
Joe proposed at Waterloo Lake (a running/hiking trail in Denison, TX) as we walked after a run. He proposed January 1st, 2021.
What was your vision/style/theme/color scheme for the Wedding?
Our vision was to have our wedding be a nice summer hangout type wedding. The style was more on the casual side. For the color scheme, we wanted neutral colors and lots of greenery for that pop of color. The theme we wanted to make it more of a coming together type party since it was after COVID quarantine times.
Why did you choose Inn at Quarry Ridge for your Wedding Celebration?
It was very spacious and in a beautiful area. Also, the location worked out for us. My family lives in different parts of Texas, South and West Texas, so we were trying to find a central location. Joe’s family are all from out of state so most were able to fly into Bryan which was very convenient.
Tell us about your Wedding Ceremony!
Our wedding ceremony was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bryan. It’s an older church with great glass-stained windows! It is about 25 minutes from the venue. We had musicians play during the ceremony and the outside of the church reminded us of Stonehem Hall!
Tell us about your Wedding Reception!
On the actual wedding day, I had LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS on the venue from my guests. The parents loved the venue because there was a backyard for the kids to play in while the adults partied and watched from the big windows in Stonehem Hall. The guests also commented on how spacious the venue was and really loved the DJ. At the end of the night, a lot of my guests were talking about renting it out for family reunions and as a reception for vow renewals.
What advice do you have for Brides planning their wedding?
My advice for brides is to get a timeline going for picking out vendors and make sure to give yourself plenty of time. I was engaged for over a year, so I was glad I have myself that buffer and had time to check out all the vendors I was interested in. It also gives you time to have the extra money in hand should additional unforeseen fees pop up.
What was your favorite moment of the Wedding Day?
I have a lot of favorite memories! I loved my aunt giving the blessing over the food, my best friend giving her speech, and reading my note from Joe before the ceremony. I think what made the night very memorable was how my guests all looked like they were enjoying themselves. It felt good to plan an event that made people forget their troubles, especially after COVID times!
