Jaxson & Alex’s Wedding Worth the Wait

How They Met

Jaxson and Alex have known each other since meeting in the 7th grade. It wasn’t until the summer before 9th grade that anything began to happen. Alex asked Jaxson to be part of a friend’s quinceanera that summer, but it wasn’t until the 9th grade started that Jaxson really took an interest in Alex. After spending more and more time together, Jaxson asked Alex to the Homecoming Dance and the night of the dance, October 5th, 2010, they made their relationship official. They remained together for 10 years. Alex said, “We grew up together and taught each other how to love.” On their 10th anniversary of dating, Jaxson asked Alex to marry him and 2 years later, they tied the knot!

The Proposal

For their 10 year dating anniversary, Jaxson and Alex decided to take a trip to Kerrville Texas and take time to reconnect and unplug from technology. It didn’t take Jaxson long to pop the question. He was so excited, he proposed right after they arrived! Even after being together for so long, Alex was not expecting it and was so surprised and happy. They kept it a secret the rest of their trip so they could just enjoy their little bubble of happiness before telling everyone a few days later.

The Ceremony & Reception

The couple wanted to keep the ceremony short and sweet because they couldn’t wait to be married! They chose one of their 7th grade teachers, ED Wetterman, to officiate. He had taught them Texas History and held a special place in their hearts as their favorite teacher. For the reception, they decided to go with a modern glam theme, focusing on wine/burgundy, hunter/emerald green, and lots of gold accents. They spent most of the evening dancing with friends and family, eating good food and even better cake! The couple felt that the first dance was magical but what was even better, was the private last dance they had after the reception hall was cleared out at the end of the night. It was a moment for them to not only escape but to just take in the entire night alone as husband and wife.

Why the Inn

“We did some research online and instantly fell in love with Inn at Quarry Ridge. This was the first and last venue we viewed. The inclusivity of the location and amenities made it an easy choice. The venue was just beautiful and so easy to work with!”

Advice From the Bride

“Make choices and move on. Don’t get caught up in the tiny details. Make a list of your top 3 priorities and make sure those are perfect. The rest will just fall into place and your day will go amazing.”

Favorite Moment

“Besides saying I do and getting to marry each other, having those small moments alone throughout the day like having a snowcone from the Kona Ice truck and sitting alone at the gazebo during cocktail hour, our private final dance, or getting chicken nuggets at the end of the night on the way home and just getting into our element.”
