Dylan & Brittany’s Rustic Winter Wonderland
How they Met
Dylan and Brittany actually went to the same high school but didn’t really connect until a few years later when they reconnected via Instagram. Dylan is currently a service consultant and Brittany, an RN.
The Proposal
Dylan proposed to Brittany on May 21st, 2021. They had gotten the family together for a Mother’s Day celebration and Dylan had a plan. He set up a photoshoot just so everyone could get some family photos. Brittany, believing the photoshoot was nothing more than an innocent family session, was completely surprised. Right in the middle of the photo shoot, Dylan popped the question.
The Ceremony
Their ceremony was held outside under the gazebo. They had a sand ceremony to unify their blended family. This is simply where individuals take sand from their separate vessels and combine the grains into one. The act represents the joining of 2 individuals and the creation of a new union and family. As beautiful as the ceremony was, it didn’t last more than 20 minutes due to the winter chill so they quickly headed over to Stone Hall for the reception and some much needed hot chocolate.
The Reception
Dylan had desired a rustic winter wonderland aesthetic for their wedding and their colors were navy, maroon, and charcoal. The wedding party and guests were happy to warm up during the reception with the help of dancing and a hot cocoa bar. How could it be a winter wonderland without a hot cocoa bar? It ended up being everything the couple had hoped for.
Why The Inn
“We chose the Inn at Quarry Ridge because when we toured it I cried. I didn’t want to have a wedding, my (now) husband really had to convince me. We had toured at least 7 other places prior to the Inn and as soon as we toured it I just knew this was where I would say yes to forever.”
Advice from the Bride
“Start doing things early. Honestly it was the best thing for us. We started planning and booking as soon as possible and so when the time came close we had nothing to stress about because it was already done.”
Favorite Moment
“We had a private last dance while the guests were lighting their sparklers. It gave us time to really soak in what happened and of course we both cried just going through the emotions of the day.”
