Intimate Wedding Weekend in College Station | Inn at Quarry Ridge
Our College Station wedding venue, Inn at Quarry Ridge, had the pleasure of hosting Victoria and Dustin’s wedding at our new Stonehem Hall May 13, 2018. They booked our exclusive Marble Package which allowed them to utilize our venue Friday for the rehearsal, Saturday for Dustin’s Texas A&M graduation and Sunday for the wedding. They even added an extra day to the 3-day stay to ensure they had plenty of time to spend with their numerous out-of-town guests taking advantage of the overnight accommodations available on-site.
The Proposal
Their love story began when they met at a coffee shop for the first time. Our team was able to chat with Victoria who takes us back to November 17th, the day she said, YES!
“November 17th was a very special day for both Dustin and myself. We walked to campus and waited in line to get his Aggie Ring, I could tell he was very excited and even seemed a bit nervous. As we waited in line he asked if I’d do the honors and present his ring to him and put it on his finger, of course I happily said yes! I presented his ring to him, some random person haphazardly snapped a few not very good photos and we were on our way. Dustin asked if I minded that we walk towards the other side of campus so we could get some better photos with his new ring, it was a beautiful day so I said sure. We walked and chatted and came across the Century Tree. As we approached the tree I recognized it from our second date. I couldn’t remember what the tree’s legend was so I asked if he could tell me again. He said, “Those who walk under the tree alone are destined to be alone forever. If you walk under the tree with someone, you’re destined to marry them, and if you get proposed to under the tree your marriage will last forever.” Of course my eyes lit up and I asked if we could walk under the tree, he happily obliged. Half way under the tree he gave me a big hug and was visibly shaking. I asked if everything was alright, a little concerned. He then got down on one knee and asked if I would be willing to spend the rest of my life with him. With the most excitement I’ve ever felt, I said Yes!”
Choosing a College Station Wedding Venue
Since they both lived in College Station at the time, it only felt natural to plan their wedding in the same city. Knowing the logistics of out-of-town guests, spending time with them in a casual atmosphere, without driving all around College Station, was a top priority. After visiting with Sue and Larry at the Inn at Quarry Ridge, and learning about everything the wedding venue included, they knew this venue was the casual elegance they had been seeking! Victoria stated Sue and Larry had thought of everything to provide the best client experience all around. Family was able to effortlessly travel into town on Friday, check into The Inn and prep for the on-site rehearsal in Stonehem Hall, and rehearsal dinner in The Great Room. Afterward, the 30 on-site guests could enjoy an after-hours pool party and s’mores by the fire.
Saturday, was spent celebrating Dustin’s graduation from Texas A&M, WHOOP!, and prepping Stonehem Hall for their Sunday Wedding. Having exclusive access to the wedding venue for the weekend allowed Victoria and her wedding team to have plenty of time setting up her gorgously handcrafted purple floral centerpieces, blush and boisenberry linens from Ashley & Company and the delicious array of coffee bar treats as their late-night favor to guests. Being huge fans of coffee themselves, and tasting the best coffee from Hawaii, they wanted to share their love of coffee with their guests by bringing in two of their favorite Hawaiian blends.
The Wedding Day!
When Sunday rolled around, hair and makeup by Naturally Flawless arrived to doll the ladies up on-site, while other guests staying at the Inn enjoyed cooling off in the pool and baking pizzas in the kitchen. The groom and his groomsmen relaxed in the living room, waiting for their cue to get dressed and ready by the wedding coordinators. Per Victoria, the day went beautifully and smoothly. Thanks to the day-of coordination contracted with Epoch Co. for all Marble Package clients, Victoria stated she never wondered what was going to happen next, and loved how she could be in the moment with her closest friends and family. The evening continued on for the guests lodging at the Inn with more fun by the pool and stone fireplaces. Monday morning was the early brunch for Victoria and Dustin before they jetted off on a 3-week honeymoon adventure cruising the British Isles and meandering the streets of Rome.
