Caleb & Erika Travel Down the Aisle

How They Met

Caleb and Erika met a little over 3 years ago while playing sand volleyball with a group of mutual friends in Huntsville Texas. Erika was attending school in Huntsville while Caleb was there for work. There was one particular sand volleyball game that stood out to Erika. “While we were playing one day, Caleb hurt his ankle and I went over to check up on him. I told him he should rest his ankle and gave him some exercises to do. With his competitive nature he didn’t listen, nor did he heed my advice. Little did I know this would be a constant trend in our relationship lol.” After a few more times playing volleyball together, Caleb asked Erika out and they have been inseparable since their first date.

The Proposal

Caleb proposed on the top of Mount Storm King in Olympic National Park. They were on vacation and decided to go on a hike. This hike happen to be a more rigorous hike than the one they had gone on the previous day. This hike was so challenging that it turned into rock climbing at one point. Being put in this uncomfortable situation resulted in many tears from Erika. Caleb made many attempts to comfort her, encouraging her to keep going. He wanted to get to the top of course because of the question he was planning to ask when they got there. Erika continued but not in a joyful state. After pulling themselves up the mountain with ropes and grabbing onto any rocks or sturdy roots they could find, Erika semi-jokingly informed Caleb that if he did not marry her after all that, she was going to kill him. Good thing Caleb was about to propose because things could have gone very wrong for him. Once they reached the top, he got down on one knee and proposed!

The Ceremony & Reception

The couple felt their ceremony could not have gone any better. The decorations and floral arrangements were beautiful and the ceremony flowed effortlessly. Caleb and Erika share a deep love and appreciation for travel and that is where the inspiration for their wedding theme came from. This was reflected all throughout the centerpieces and decorations for the wedding. For colors they went with lilac, cornflower blue, and sand to compliment to time of year. The wedding reception was everything the couple wanted it to be. From the food, music and dancing to the speeches, everything was like a dream. Caleb and Erika said that they were “completely stress free and didn’t worry about a thing.”

Why The Inn

“We chose the Inn At Quarry Ridge for our wedding because of the value offered and the beauty of the venue. There were so many services included in the price that we thought it was well worth it. The venue was in a familiar area to my family, which served as a sign to me that this was the perfect venue for us. The fact that our entire wedding party could stay there as well was an added bonus.”

Advice From the Bride

“HAVE A DAY OF COORDINATOR!! It makes the day of flow seamlessly and alleviates a lot of stress. Also, make sure you are getting what you and your husband want. Not what others think you should have.”

Favorite Moment

“The best part of the evening was dancing with our friends and family during the reception!”
